even congress becomes an agent of the president, as its ability to exercise authority over the executive branch becomes a function of the executive’s willingness to be held accountable.

A witness recorded ICE agents taking a cash box from a taco stand in La Puente during an operation where four people were arrested.

The reason to require government approval of big mergers is to prevent market-distorting concentrations of corporate power that harm competition and consumers, not so the president can distort the market in favor of ideological allies and/or solicit a bribe for himself.

2) Jeffries makes excuses for the "thin" indictment
3) Cuellar files to run as a Dem
4) Trump squeals that his quid pro quo isn't being honored
Trump rages that Henry Cuellar didn’t pay him back for a pardon by switching parties, blasting Cuellar for a “lack of LOYALTY.”

In other words, Trump admits he was trying to use his pardon power to buy Republicans a House seat.

Focusing on a single incident makes it resonate with the public more. It doesn't somehow justify the other killings, it illustrates the larger problem.

The right is good at this, sometimes in bad faith. For example, Laken Riley.

Basically "one death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic."
Once the debate centers on whether the 2nd strike was legal, the first 21 strikes have been accepted as baseline. But the murder of the two survivors doesn’t make the other 21 any more legal. Selective outrage, not silence, is how authoritarianism becomes normalized @tadstoermer.bsky.social
