The most I’ve seen NEPA do to hold up a project is actually just delay it by a year or two. Not that this is nuthin, given how costs escalate. But if a project isn’t pursued after going thru NEPA review it’s probably because the project is too expensive, lacks some feasibility, or isn’t worth it.

NEPA and CEQA are fundamentally different in their ability to hold up projects. NEPA doesn’t require mitigation. NEPA is a useful part of planning and studying projects that reveals tradeoffs that are helpful for decision making. I get the CEQA reform stuff for sure, but NEPA isn’t CEQA

Wood River headwaters above Upper Klamath Lake in Oregon. It’s spring fed, which you can kind of see. Looks like the river is is just emerging from a rock 🤣

Indeed! This was on 97 north of Weed, and the clouds had retreated a bit which made the view clearer but less impressive. I have my rain jacket and boots for tomorrow 🫡
