The history of abolition is so important in these dark days of the republic. They succeeded when enslavers controlled the entire federal government, the Supreme Court, the Electoral College and Congress through the three fifths clause. Join me tonight! www.gilderlehrman.org/itv-registra...

See. I would’ve never known. I’m mad I had no clue and nobody told me this story to empower me when I was young. This is black history right here. Black WOMEN’s history.

They were a famous team called Black Magic. Their elementary school teacher got them started and they became the best in the world.

The AI boom has created a new type of work: fixing botched AI. Designers are being hired to remake wonky AI art. Writers are asked to make ChatGPT’s writing sound more human. Even software developers are tasked with fixing buggy vibe coding.

In a prospectus defense for one of my DH students shortly. I'm learning about the history of synthesizers, and how they were going to put everyone out of a job. Boy does this story sound familiar.

All still banned in my classes.

We've had extensive discussions in the past year amongst my close colleagues about AI use in the classroom, and some people take different approaches. But all of these uses prevent students from learning what I am teaching them, here specifically information literacy
The Appendix on an AI policy is actually quite bad. Having an AI deliver a summary before reading has major implications in terms of the experience of student learning. What we want students to do and how they do it is the question. The experience of reading is not the same as reading a summary.
