Definitely. Personally, I'm not privy to what MFF is doing. I'm not on staff or the board for that con (yes to others, for context), but security and access to public spaces for pretty much every con I've worked are entirely on the hotel/event space and the con has zero control or sway.

Were it that easy, I'm sure that'd be a consideration. Contractually cons are on the hook for every hotel night, every food and bev dollar and every event space minute not used. It would cancel the con forever to nix it now. Cons are huge 7-figure machines yearly. It's insane how much $$$ it costs.

The realistic response to this is: Nothing. The con has no control over the facility and can't exclude law enforcement from publicly accessible areas. If Hyatt or the CC want to exclude them, awesome! Great! They can even ask if that's possible. But if they don't want to...nothing the con can do.
