The fact that things -aren't- getting better for them, and in fact, the all stick no carrot presidency is just kind of rumbling forward at full steam making everyone's life progressively more shit is, I think, actually starting to break through and other people being in more pain isn't enough.

There is a reason successful authoritarian movements are often more sensitive to public opinion, rather than less. Ensuring the standard of living for the people who put and will keep you in power is existential for these systems.

Anyways, the reason why the Trump administration has completely failed to consolidate and really seems to be falling apart is multi-faceted, but there certainly is the reason that they got into power and immediately got to the business of destroying their own voters lives.

something I've been thinking about if/when we retake power is we're really going to need to shock & awe the elites with accountability. hit em hard and fast. gotta break the entire system and don't give it time to regroup.
Important to understand the Epstein stuff and the fascism and the corruption are, in a lot of ways, really all the same story from different angles: powerful men who can and do abuse vulnerable people around them because they can, and because systems of elite accountability catastrophically failed
