At my institution the ordering physician has to consent EVERYBODY for studies with contrast and if the patient has a creatinine > 1.6 (why not eGFR or CrCl, I don’t know) you have to explain your decision making to radiology. Sometimes you even have to get nephrology approval. Absolutely hurts care.
