Something I haven’t gotten used to as an attorney is asking administrative staff to do things that I can just do myself. Like I understand why it’s important to not do administrative tasks myself, but it still feels goofy!

Thinking about we did a girls weekend trip in small New England town. Otw to the beach we stopped by a little coffee shop for breakfast and sat outside. The residents were staring hard and someone goes “we’ve never had this much excitement.” Mind you, we were just Black and eating bagels.

Once again, writing a 16 page motion being careful to use the correct “they/them” pronouns only to have it come back from review changed to “he/him” bcus nobody else paid attention. Like hello! We are already defending the client against a discrimination claim. Perhaps we don’t misgender people?
