If you are comfortable with a "locked" eco-system, #Synology will offer a rock solid platform with lots of features and models to choose from. With X25 models and the "hdd locking" it needs to be said that changes are coming on that front as well. Still, if you need freedom, best to look elsewhere.

Benefits the company greatly (financially) but also provides users with a more simple matrix in terms of drives that are (non enterprise ones) priced the same as the competition. As long as the supply chain will not be an issue being in a closed eco system is one less thing to worry about. my2c

Another vote for #synology. A lot of options! Just be mindful of their hard drive compatibility list. The new 2025 models have (presently) a strict Synology-only drives.
