re: recent events

this is the only post i’ll make on the subject here.
Breaking character for a spell here, and also breaking my own personal rule about staying out of fandom drama because I feel this is really important. The Phighting fandom has become a very unsafe environment recently. In large part due to an unwillingness from certain fans to accept different interpretations of this very vague story we’re all attached to and a general disregard for basic fandom etiquette that’s existed since before the internet. What’s happened recently is disgusting and horrible, and I think we’re doing a disservice to the victims and our community as a whole if we look at is as an isolated incident and not the natural progression of a community whose entitlement and obstinance have gone unchecked. We have to stop normalizing this kind of behavior. My heart goes out to everyone who’s been harassed or threatened. Please take care of yourselves. It is not your fault, you did not deserve it. The art you created, whether it’s visual, written, or even just imagined in your heads is beautiful and should be treasured. I love you. Shame on Sodakettle for her response. Shame on her for enabling and even inadvertently encouraging this behavior from her fanbase. You are responsible for the standards you set for your community, and in this case you set the standard that doxxing and harassment is acceptable. I will be continuing to run my accounts and make the content I want, including ship content. And regardless of what Soda says, or rather what she doesn’t say, any kind of shaming, harassment or even bad-faith criticism of any other creators in this space will not be tolerated. Obviously, we can’t expect the standards to be set by the creator, so we have to be very clear about setting them for ourselves. Take care and stay safe. 🩷🩵

Final update for the foreseeable future.
Client Full Name: Subspace Trip Mine Client Date of Spawn: 23/10/1994 Date of Service: 11/27/2024 Exact start time and end time: N/A Diagnoses: TBA Session Notes: Subspace did not show up for session, but answered phone call. He stated he would not be attending any more sessions, claimed that therapist was poisoning his mind and did not have good intentions. He began to list acts of violence he claims to have perpetrated, citing them as evidence that therapy was not going to be effective for him. Therapist attempted to deescalate. An unknown party took over the phone call and told therapist not to reach out again. Subspace did not have any emergency contacts listed. Therapist reported safety concerns to crisis intervention team, but they reported being turned away at client’s door. No further sessions have been scheduled at this time, but therapist intends to keep regular slots available in case Subspace reaches out.

this will be the second-to-last update that i'm going to be posting on my break. i'm taking the arc a little faster than i planned but i think this is as good a time as any to do this! you'll see why on wednesday :P

Client Full Name: Subspace Trip Mine Client Date of Spawn: 23/10/1994 Date of Service: 11/24/2024 Exact start time and end time: 17:11-17:58 47 min Session Notes Subspace was late for session due to a work meeting. He was well-dressed but appeared tired. He complained of experiencing pain which made it difficult to sleep. Therapist and patient reviewed the schedule Subspace made. Therapist asked patient to identify his current emotions off of a list. Patient refused to comply with this. Subspace was reserved and anxious during session. He refused to share many details of his week. Therapist prompted him with open-ended questions. He mentioned visiting a few stores and a new restaurant on his break. Therapist congratulated him on this accomplishment, but this seemed to further agitate him. Subspace mentioned multiple times that his supervisors would not approve of him being here. Therapist reminded him of patient confidentiality, but this also was not effective in helping him calm down. Therapist further asked about Subspace’s superiors. He described them as being ‘harsh sometimes,’ but insisted they always had his and Blackrock’s best interests in mind. Subspace has a lot of gratitude towards them and attributes all of his current achievements to their teaching throughout his childhood. Therapist asked what Subspace thinks he would be doing if he was not working for Blackrock. Subspace explained that he was taken and ‘trained’ from the moment of his spawn, and therefore he has never considered any other way of living. Subspace’s anxiety continued to worsen as session continued, and therapist suggested ending early, which Subspace agreed to. Next session Wednesday. Patient made a plan to visit mentioned restaurant again during a break. Therapist will continue to encourage patient to challenge distorted and unhealthy thought patterns with CBT-P and DBT techniques. Therapist should continue to monitor patient for signs of past and/or ongoing domestic abuse.

He reported less difficulty sleeping and withheld information regarding his eating. He described his routine over the last three days as busy. He has taken on a new project at work which he is very excited about. Therapist suggested establishing a schedule with allowances for rest and meals to facilitate steadier progress. Subspace was receptive to this idea. Assessment: Subspace was comparatively more open in this session than previously, though he still has strong reservations. He is in a good mood. His work is keeping him stimulated enough during the day to allow him to sleep at night. He demonstrates a profound emotional attachment to the Biografts he creates, praising them both as his achievements and on their own merit. Subspace mentioned that someone in his life is behaving oddly. He is agitated about it. He denied being friends with the person and called her unintelligent. When questioned on why he thought that, he became uncomfortable. Plan: Sessions will continue biweekly. Therapist will use work as an avenue to discuss emotions and personal goals, and will continue to integrate CBT-P and DBT techniques into intervention. Therapist assigned creating a work schedule as homework for Sunday session.

Client Full Name: Subspace Trip Mine Client Date of Spawn: 23/10/1994 Date of Service: 11/13/2024 Exact start time and end time: 8:32-9:31 59 mins Diagnoses: TBA Session Notes: Data: Subspace arrived slightly late for therapy. He had a disheveled appearance but was wearing clean clothing. He appeared irritable and expressed annoyance regarding the session. Therapist thanked him for attending despite feeling irritated. Subspace reported difficulty sleeping due to pain, admitted it may be a contributing factor to his current mood. He denies any current suicidal or homicidal ideation, and confirmed he has been skipping meals. Session plan was to discuss a treatment plan. Subspace rejected any diagnostic evaluation and reported no interest in medication. When further pressed, he reported believing it to be a “waste of time.” Subspace claims that there is “nothing wrong with him” and that medication cannot “fix” him. FOREWORD: Please Read
This thread will be a compilation of notes written from the perspective of Subspace’s therapist. I will be writing these twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays. Some context for the notes: -They will have been written AFTER the session, as therapists tend not to take notes in front of their clients. -They will be based on the therapist’s perception of Subspace, and especially at the beginning may not be an overly accurate reflection of their mental state. This thread will delve into topics of cult mentality and conditioning/brainwashing, systematic abuse, self-harm, disordered eating, suicidal and homicidal ideation, PTSD, delusions, and hallucinations. The language used will be clinical to the best of my knowledge. On that note, I AM NOT A PSYCHOLOGIST. I have done/will continue to do careful research into any/all topics I discuss in order to portray them accurately and respectfully, but nothing I write should be taken as fact or advice. This will be a work of fiction, and certain liberties will be taken for the sake of effective and engaging storytelling. In real life, a therapist may not even write notes as extensive as these. Real people do not recover as quickly as Subspace will. Please keep this all in mind and enjoy!
