Painful to watch G7 host PM Carney butter up Trump. Good grief, why bother? Any “deal” Trump makes with Canada will last only until his next Big Mac; the man’s word is meaningless. Plus, Trump does not want a “deal,” he wants dominance; he's only happy when ripping the wings off flies. #G7 #Carney

Re: PM Carney's call for “nation building projects," why must Canada be obsessed with oil pipelines? How about a cultural pipeline? A project to build world-class film/video studios in every province would employ our multitude of experienced entertainment workers while posing no environmental issues

It seems William Butler Yeats foresaw the Fruitcake Fascist.

The late Queen Elizabeth II, responding to a comment about how often she travelled, quipped: “I have to be seen to be believed.” Today, we in Canada saw and believed her son, King Charles III, as he opened our parliament by giving our government’s speech from the throne. True north, strong and free.

This is award-winning actor Devon Sorvari of "Gilmore Girls" who beautifully narrates the audiobook of my latest novel, The Deadly Trade. But today is a sad one for voice actors: Audible will now offer AI narration. Narrating audiobooks has long been a fruitful income stream for actors - until now.

Lovely spring afternoon, so I took our Miata out for a spin for the first time this season. (The pic is from summer a couple years ago, but you get the idea.) Such a great little car! #Miata

Yes, it really works! One Pot Pasta. Spaghetti, grape tomatoes, onions, garlic, fresh basil, salt, pepper, olive oil and 4.5 cups water all together, simmer 10 minutes, DONE. And delicious! #veganrecipes

Lucky us! My brother Jim and I enjoyed this marvellous free concert by brilliant young singers of the Canadian Opera Company who serenaded us with famous opera duets. Soprano Karoline Podolak and tenor Wesley Harrison, accompanied by pianists Mattia Senesi and Brian Cho. #loveToronto

Hmm, imagine the Brits on the eve of D-Day, June 1944. (Volkischer Beobachter was the Nazi Party newspaper.)

Trump continues his vicious attack on education and learning. Publisher’s Marketplace reports: “A new executive order issued March 14 called for the elimination of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the nation's only federal agency for supporting libraries."

Canada should cancel the deal for 88 American F35 jets and buy this instead: the SAAB JAS 39 Gripen, a supersonic fighter aircraft manufactured by the Swedish aerospace company Saab AB. That will get Lockheed Martin banging on Trump's door (or his thick orange head) to scrap his tariff war on Canada

A sane response for today, sinceTrump has now economically attacked Canada with 25% tariffs and viciously betrayed Ukraine by stopping US support. Tea to catch our breath today. Tomorrow, re-join the fight against the malevolence of Trump and the Trumpublican Party.

Thanks to my fellow Canadian taxpayers for the annual payment in compensation for my books circulating in libraries across Canada. Over 18K writers were similarly compensated. So, dear readers, don’t feel guilty about borrowing books; we authors are well compensated. Thanks! #BringingTheArtsToLIfe
