I spent some time trimming our hedge this afternoon and my shoulders are really feeling it. Usually I pay someone to do the gardening and then spend my own time lifting dumbbells. It doesn’t really make sense, does it?

Bluesky has apparently decided I want to see dick pics today. Is that because of the tentacle sculpture by the sea from my last post? Have blocked the dick pic accounts and upvoted some more kitten pic and otter pic accounts.

I tried out Baldur’s Gate 3 on N’s computer while in Canberra, and was very tempted to buy a copy of my own. But I don’t have a computer of my own that I can play it on (just a personal iPad and a work laptop), and it’s not so tempting as to be worth buying a computer or PS5.

Just realised how easy it will be for motivated state actors to engage in data poisoning to influence outputs of AI LLMs. Start by setting up or capturing hundreds of “peer reviewed” journals for legitimacy and fill them with AI generated content that looks credible but pushes your narrative.

So to balance that with a happier post: caught up with Townsville friends yesterday for lunch and a game of Pandemic, which was great. Catching up with these friends always makes me happy.

Spent hours today out shopping for things that I could have bought online, cheaper, in half an hour. Failed to find 1 of the 4 items that I went out for (shoes that fit) and had to drive to a second shopping centre for another. Thought I was doing the right thing, but I don’t think it was worth it.
