Book recommendation time! While the book is technically written for trans folks, it gave me a new perspective & I learned so much. I feel a little better equipped to be an ally now. It has so much info for everyone.

Text of an email: Breathing Exercises Deep breathing is one of the best ways to reduce stress in the body. It can help decrease your heart rate, calm your breathing, and lower your blood pressure. There are many breathing exercises you can use; here are instructions for one of them — belly breathing. 1. Sit or lie flat in a comfortable position. 2. Put one hand on your belly just below your ribs and the other hand on your chest. 3. Take a deep breath in through your nose and let your belly push your hand out. Your chest should not move. 4. Breathe out through pursed lips as if you were whistling. Feel the hand on your belly go in and use it to push all the air out. 5. Do these 3 to 10 times. Take your time with each breath. 6. Notice how you feel at the end of the exercise. Boost your well-being Here are a few tips and strategies that can help you build resiliency: • Connect with others • Avoid excessive alcohol consumption and drug use • Limit social media use and screen time • Practice gratitude

Facebook reminded me that I posted this 5 years ago today. It’s weird to read this now knowing that 7 months later my husband would be dead.
I’ve been giving the in-laws way too much of my mental energy the last few wks. Their ability to hurt my feelings never stops surprising me.

Does anyone know if there are any in-person places that teach how to do eye liner? Specifically a cat’s eye or winged (basically like below)? Or do you have any YouTubers you recommend that teach how to do it?
