Most of my coworkers are in Eastern Europe, so the healthcare conversation with HR got really weird. They didn’t really grasp how bad things are here. Their policy was “hey, we give you $90 a month for expenses!”

Take the millionaires tax above. An extra $500 or $1000 or whatever doesn’t make a dent to someone who made 100x that.
Now imagine all the whining and gnashing of teeth over that bill when it came out. If you lived like you make $200k, it won’t matter. Zero stress.

Not quite. It is a thing where once you’ve past a certain mark, you’re good. Stressing about making more, or pushing to look like you’re in a way higher income bracket doesn’t improve your happiness, generally the opposite.

I had the center row of a 747 to myself from Sydney to LA. I grabbed as many pillows + blankets as I could and made a comfortable bed out of it. Best sleep on a plane ever.

Except in extremes, normal people don’t have these sorts of problems or concerns because they have enough calorie reserves to handle it, and their bodies automatically moderate it. Diabetics have to do it all manually, which significantly raises the difficulty.
