It's been deeply moving to be contacted by individuals and churches looking to help. The church has now set up a page for contributions here: givealittle.co/c/209a83ba-5... or if your gift is bigger do contact them or I direct and we'll find the best way to take it off your hands. Thank you.

It was good to see this article from our local Teesside paper following up the same deprivation stats that I have written about below, 'I wouldn't live anywhere else': www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/teessid...

Delighted at these accessibility improvements in the archdeaconry:
Step-free access has been introduced from the car park to the altar for the first time at a parish first built in the 19th century, following a £50,000 grant from the Church of England disability project.

This chimes with what I am seeing (have met several parents/grandparents in recent weeks who were invite to church by their children/grandchildren rather than other way round). It also raises important questions for churches @churchofengland.org

Sadly not surprising new deprivation data from BBC
Are you a priest & want to do something about it?
We’ve got great jobs available in wonderful communities with fab colleagues. If @churchofengland.org isn’t in Middlesbrough where is it?!
Come on in, the water is lovely…

One of the great joys & privileges of ministry, to read each of the stories of coming to faith of the 17 people I'm baptising/confirming this weekend and write letters to each of them. A weekly occurrence at the mo. God at work across @dioceseofyork.bsky.social in beautiful, moving, inspiring ways

Good to spend the morning with Chaplain Dianne Gamble at the Thirsk Auction Mart. Dianne spends most Thursday mornings supporting the Mart and the community which makes it up. Such vital ministry at such a hard time for the farming community.

On this International Freedom of Religion/Belief Day, we remember that the majority of the earth's population live in a country where their religious freedom is under threat
As Christian's believe God gives us freedom to chose, so may all humanity recommit to work for such freedom around our world

One of the highlights of a week of holiday at home: dinner at Middlesbrough College’s Waterside Brasserie. Cooked by catering students, served by front of house students, only in their second month.
Well worth an evening out - six courses, £19, amazing food & service! Every Thursday.
