for more complex scents where the violet is accompanied by other notes, some of my favourites include après l'ondée, l'heure bleue, and insolence all by guerlain; or lolita lempicka by lolita lempicka!

for specific recs, some of my fav violets are from indie perfumers, for instance alkemia's temptation or deadly nightshade. any parma violet soliflore is a good first experience, though; yardley makes a well known one, or you can look for a violet essential oil to experience the unadulterated note!

violets have a lovely powder-sweet smell that, due to the funny way ionone molecules interact with our scent receptors, tends to disappear quickly as the receptors get 'numb', and then reappear as they clear, making it a tantalising experience!
