A tough day on bressay but pleasing to find a red brested flycatcher also the long staying Scaup. Climbed bards head to see the Giants leg also picked out a late arctic tern a minke whale and a pod of dolphins @kevin-clements.bsky.social

Tomorrow is last full day on bressay. Its been the hardest year I've ever known on Shetland. Quiet yrs make good years better. Me and dad @kevin-clements.bsky.social have found 1 SNOW GOOSE 1 yb wblr 1 mistle thrush 1 scaup 1 snow bunting 3 goldfinch on bressay this year. Been tough!!

Found a Guilemot under some lines in a field on bressay checked it over seemed feisty so took to the beach and watched it swim out to sea. A little video I took for my kids

Quick dash to belvide before work to check this phalorope as need Wilson for staffs sadly grey of course even saw a bh gull try and drown it. Also 2 great white egret 1 Greenshank and marsh harrier. Mr Nuttall will blow my photos away

Ringing So far this year at my site in Staffordshire is having best year for Sedge Reed Whitethroat Gropper and Tree Pipit sadly Willow Wblr numbers are down and worryingly only 2 blackbird new this year. Although should get more when passage blackbirds arrive.

A good morning on the local patch today in Staffordshire with a passing marsh harrier also a grasshopper warbler and spotted flycatcher whilst ringing. Goodbye August has been a pleasing month.

I actually was starting to think was gonna be my first ever personal blank year for whinchat in my 10k circle and my patch area but today I found 2 whinchats and 5 stonechat down Furnace Grange Trescott.

1 ringed 3 little ringed plover north shore Plus bar headed goose.

I do love August. Photos taken by a friend. Always great happiness when ring these 3 species. The first two i love them underrated birds and the last always checking for the countys first aquatic.

A year ago wind was south easterlies in warm weather with influx of sun bleached acros into Staffordshire. Alongside the sedge and Reed was this beauty. Wow Paddyfield warbler. A bird that me dad @kevin-clements.bsky.social and Ian moore @themoorehen.bsky.social will prob never see again in staffs
