As a joint venture of the University of Basel and the University Hospitals Basel, the Department of Biomedicine (DBM) brings together basic and clinical scientists to advance our understanding of health and disease.
Our Tissue Engineering Lab has built the most advanced human bone marrow model! It supports blood cell formation, reduces the need for animal testing, and could one day aid drug testing and personalized cancer treatments.
