Extremely important: actual compliance with judicial orders is going to be one of the biggest tests of our system, and this might be where we get to find out.

Anyone know of grants that are still frozen?
YOUR HELP NEEDED: Today a Federal judge in R.I. ordered the Trump admin to re-start all federal grant payments.

If you've got a federal contract, and your funding is *still* frozen despite that order, please let us know here.

Respectfully, you need to stop doomscrolling and get enough rest so you have the energy you need to deal with any new national garbage fires tomorrow. Plus normal life stuff.

And don't forget to charge your phone outside of your bedroom.

Here it is in a nutshell:

1. Trump is an authoritarian.
2. With the GOP controlling Congress, courts are key to protecting democracy.
3. So far, courts are doing a good job on #2.
4. GOP will next attack election rules like they did in 2021.

Don't let the cynics convince you not to fight. FIGHT!

This is the most relevant article to NIH and research cuts I’ve seen.

Imagine if this was today , how many people would be saying “Why are we studying Gila Monsters and their impact on diabetes ? That’s wasted money !”

The idea that those on the left will ever agree enough to be an “echo chamber” is rather funny to me.

We couldn’t even agree whether to refer to Kamala Harris by her first or last name.

We all need to become eco-populists. That means championing policies that significantly lower daily costs while lowering emissions. Heat Pumps for All, alongside much more robust tenant rights; free and better public transit; price caps on green energy; make polluters pay for the transition.
