It was a great day at our sports ground at #tolworthcourt on Saturday, lots of scrub scalloped around shrubby hawthorns and blackthorn trees. No slow worms spotted under the mats, but a kestrel hovering over head for some of it :)
Well be back here in the spring for one more session in 2026 🌟

Some shots of the fantastic volunteers today as we cleared tonnes balsam from the right bank of the Hogsmill River and the channel 2. We got permission from @kingscollegelondon.bsky.social to access the bank via their Sports Ground -thank you 😊

Back at Tolworth Court Sports Grounds, undertaking mosaic cutting and removal of stone of the woodies ruderal plant species in the meadow area as part of the management there. Avoiding the ant hills on the site as we go. Some of the different species spotted this morning:

Why is it that all of the animals are shoeing up after the #cnc2025 recording period! I'd heard the chaffers in Sunday, but couldnt record or photograph them! But all of the volunteers have done a fantastic job on @kingstonuniversity.bsky.social sites, with 2759 observations...

A brilliant session with the vols digging out invasive Spanish Bluebells+ Variegated Yellow Archangel from our woodland @kingstonuniversity.bsky.social This is the 1st year in tacking these species w/ vols. Adding this 2our other invasive sp. work in our decades long aim to restore this woodland
