This scheme now has 45 past writers who have made big leaps in their writing careers, including finishing book proposals, book deals and bylines in journalism. The 2026 programme comprises an in person event at the Royal Society in Mar 2026 (expenses covered) followed by six online sessions.

The scheme, supported by the Royal Society, aims to help early-stage science writers from minoritised backgrounds based in the UK to advance their professional development.
