Remember, those in power (our elected officials) have no motivation to change. They set their own rules, they've been entrenched in corporate money for campaigns, and billionaire influences. The change has to be from the top (to be quicker) otherwise it's years of work.

Possibly, after several generations! The damage and now mistrust is DEEP, not only in the US but throughout the world. And the attitudes that allowed DT and P2025 to happen go all the way back more than 50 years. The rot has deep roots.

I would agree the damage has been done, and who knows if we can ever regain the trust and admiration we have lost. And in such a short amount of time. Nobody was prepared for his devious onslaught. Who to blame??? Start with the millions of people who didn't vote in 2024.

Agreed. I would caveat that with.., nothing is forever. But definitely the damage goes much deeper than one presidential election. America is unstable. And corrupted. It will take a long time to turn it around. I will be dead, but my grandchildren will won’t. I worry for them.

Today seems exceptionally heavy. I mean every day is awful, but today seems just heavy. I don't know if anything will change, but at the same time, somehow, I have a very small layer of hope sitting underneath all the dread, fear, sadness & disgust. Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself.

Yep... in Feb. when they stood firm on DEI policies, they pay their people well, relatives had always loved them ... so even though I'm about 45 miles from the nearest one, I got a card. I've ordered online a few times partly due to distance and partly because some things are only available online.
