"But what I hope most of all is that you understand what I mean when I tell you that even though I do not know you, and even though I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you, I love you. With all my heart, I love you."

I wish people cared about the first amendment rights of authors and artists who are getting their works banned in schools and libraries across the USA as much as they care about the rights of white male comedians to be on national TV

i am not surprised to see authoritarians and fascists take aim at hollywood specifically because they understand its power, and i am pained to see this happen, but i can also say this: CREATIVITY and STORYTELLING and ART cannot be stopped, not on a small scale, not on the large scale

As you cancel streaming services, here is a casual reminder that only 16% of Americans read for pleasure anymore, and your local library has hundreds or thousands of books you haven't read.

They would love to see you stop by and renew your library card.

A lot of you are dooming, and I get that. But it just makes me defiant AF.

They literally can't do logistically what they're trying to do unless we all acquiesce to it.

YWMTBH is an INSTANT BESTSELLER!

In this day and age, a horror novel BY and ABOUT a disabled trans man - tackling pregnancy as violence, the necessity of abortion, and the right to CHOOSE - hitting a list? It feels like a miracle.

Everyone, thank you so much 🪱

I recognize this is the LEAST important thing on the planet right now, but on top of *gestures to everything*, I can't even be excited that the Muppet Show is coming back because Disney decided to cave to authoritarianism.

BREAKING: Disney+ is to replace the two-season run of Andor with a recut version that runs for only five minutes, and is just Mon Mothma apologising profusely to Darth Vader for any inconvenience, and letting him have whatever he wants.

It's so so helpful to get involved with local projects in your city and town. I can't recommend it any more highly. You meet new comrades, you get to focus on specific goals and you might even win your demands.

I read #Katabasis by RF Kuang this week, and it read me for filth! I've never felt so called for my unhealthy need for validation and success in an academic setting.

Anyway, I loved it.
