Apart from all the comments in this thread, you only have to look at the longevity of the contamination and, in the case of Dounraey, the contamination of the beaches and seas for miles around which should be a cautionary lesson - the public are warned not to walk on the beaches.
Dounreay nuclear power station last produced electricity 30+ years ago, yet decontamination is expected to last until the 2070s and cost £8Bn, with full decontamination of the site estimated to take more than 300 years. Now Westminster wants to build *more* nuclear power stations in Scotland.
