We love being asked questions.

No sarcasm intended. I got a job working at a library so I didn't have to sell anything to anybody, and just provide help for free. It's an amazing feeling. So please, ask away!
Pick up books and put them on a table.

Ask the librarian a question.

Use a computer.

Use Libby or Hoopla or something else to stream video on your phone.

Look at the wide selection of magazines and newspapers there.
1. Visit the library and just hang out. The library keeps count of visitors!

2. Bring your own book to the library and read. See item number one above

3. Borrow a CD like David Bowie Ziggy Stsrdust

4. Borrow a DVD like marvel’s Iron Man

5. Attend a workshop!

6. Attend two!!

PM Mark Carney was talking about attracting foreign investment to Canada and listed reasons Canada is a good place to invest. A reporter pointed out that the U.S. has those things, too. What sets Canada apart?

PM Carney: "Well, we have rule of law."

I've always felt a little out of place in the world and I think part of the problem is that I don't actually know the back of my hand very well.

basically every 2024 truism is dead. Trump did not build a lasting multiracial coalition or turn young men into committed Republicans. You don’t need to cave on trans rights to win. The pundits have nothing left to tell you.

Earlier this year, I met a Croatian journalist who was in the US doing a piece on America’s politics and I asked her what surprised her. And she said, “What you all call the far left is just being normal.”

A movie I've seen more than 7 times?

(I couldn't find a gif for "These orders are seven bloody hours old!" - a great line reading by Skarsgård.)

They hanged the people who got us the 8-hour workday.
If people actually understood how willing our government is to go to war with its own people simply for demanding equal rights, I think a lot more of us would be ready for war.

a very obvious case in point is Keir Starmer's Labour Party which is not so much as shifting but yeeting the Overton Window in Reform's direction on most key issues and getting rewarded with truly historic levels of unpopularity
I guess this is the savvy take or whatever but as an empirical matter, it doesn't work to reinforce the narratives of your opponents. If Democrats start start saying, "immigrants are the reason crime rates are high!" they won't convince anti-immigrant voters and they'll alienate pro-immigrant voters
