But to the extent we must have a takeaway, how about “Democrats must run charismatic candidates who propose an affirmative vision for the future and promise to make Big Changes instead of running establishment candidates who talk only about what they can’t do.”

Forecasting about what it means for 2028 is a waste of time. Let’s see how he does, for one thing; if he does a great job, that will make it easier to run a more progressive person in 2028, and if he does a bad job, that will make it harder. Let’s see what happens!
