Our prototype device will easily mount under the seat of any bike.
You can extend the barrier one-handed when you need extra space, and then you can retract it back under the seat when you don't.

These are great lessons. My commute is 18km each way and I strongly agree with your "store heavy things at the office" lesson! I keep my laptop charger, change of clothes, etc. there along with a pile of snacks.
