Inflation-adjusted median income has more than doubled since 2000, and is up 44% since 2017. The Black population, which had risen from 2000-2017, has now dropped below 2000 levels.

The SF Chronicle can't really hope to have an opinion writer as bad as Ross Douthat, but they try.

Looks like this thing needs a modification.

So helpful of Insta to break web notifications so you can't see which post people are responding to.

@ebbp.bsky.social August 2025: Hawaiian.

Warm night in Concord and Clayton. Hits included Sudden Rush, The Clash, Surfaris, Beach Boys, Rebirth, Cimafunk, Incredible Bongo Band, and Elton John. Best in set, Crazy Train (RIP Ozzy). Also love for Tom Lehrer.

Gotta say, that's a really odd set of business for G to highlight.

The Lange image is apparently shot from 8th Street, and the building is gone. But, on Franklin, one of the original ornamented pillars remains. It would have been at the back of the building from her vantage point.

This wasn't very long ago.

I put together a RWGPS Collection of all of my Bay Area Bike Rides routes. 2300km, 35470m of climbing in aggregate. A challenge?

Hey @bikeeastbay.bsky.social @walkoakbikeoak.bsky.social, can we at least get a convex mirror here? Jingletown, East 7th at 29th, blind corner at a freeway entrance. It's an important connector.

Here's Garry Tan talking about building a technofascist state, and how "if it works in SF, it will work anywhere".

And here's the new "Black Action Alliance" supporting Taylor, which happens to have the same San Rafael address as Tan's GrowSF. Also, no Black people.

Of course the house with literal astroturf also has a Taylor for Mayor sign. #oakland #empowerfascism

With the Great Highway extension narrowed for construction, and with the permanent road closure from Sloat to Lincoln about to start, I modified the routes on bayareabikerides.net which begin at Daly City BART to go through Park Merced instead of down John Daly to the lake. #ridebike

Those who ride Pinehurst: I've just noticed that the bike path from School Street to the Canyon bridge is now open as an alternative to Moraga Way/Moraga Road. Not bad (probably lots of walkers on weekends).

I've updated the route on Bay Area Bike Rides.
