on a vanity level, for me, horses are cooler. yes, but with climate change, who the heck is gonna enjoy these advancements? advancing at the cost of the only place we can actually live, and by extension, our species doesn't make much sense.?

my MAIN issue, aside from it's unethical uses is the environmental impact. I mean the world wasn't exactly heating up back then. I'd rather not have yet another thing adding to the fire.

the internet, google, and calculators already exist, so there isn't much of a need for a secondary, pErsOnaLisAblE version that add onto their own impact.

10x was a very obvious exaggeration. but again, point is, humans can, and have been doing it for years, and have been just fine. so there's no need to have ai do it. ofc, in terms of ethics.. I highly doubt we'll be able to do that. in terms of sustainability.. it', again, is something we don't-

okay, tell me one. just one good use of ai. one thing ai can do that is of substance. I am saying from every single use ai has, there is a human who could do 10x better, for almost no environmental repercussions. I am saying it is just a waste in every sense of the word.

dude, my classmates and juniors are getting dumber than before. they fr cannot fathom writing a 250 word essay with their brains and just ask GPT to do it for them, and I'm not the only one with this observation. it is transforming education into a dumpsterfire.

it actually cannot serve society in any way, from the uses I've seen of it. it does things literally anyone with a brain can do, things we have been doing for ages before it came along. the energy it uses is not good for the environment.
