I don’t think that’s true. The polls ended up being quite accurate, and apparently Harris’ internal polls showed Trump winning. In retrospect, her decision to appear on Fox shows that they were getting desperate.

Community boards influence what actually happens on the ground in NYC. I joined my CB promote transportation equity in Northeast Queens and helped get several miles of bike lanes in our area. I’ve also advocated in favor of a homeless shelter. I strongly encourage other people to join their CB.

You might not “need” it, but a lot of people could benefit from a better understanding of things like systemic racism that have shaped our society. Or children’s books with diverse characters rather than the all white characters in the books we used when I was in school.

This is just tiresome. NY has worked long and hard on CP and it’s finally delivering results. Maybe Phil Murphy should start investing more money into public transit in NJ rather than trying to make his state’s problem New York’s problem.

It will be interesting to see the impact the provincial legislation that they passed last year that makes it easier to built high density around transit hubs. I’m skeptical that they can do much to truly make Vancouver “affordable,” but it could change the layout of the city.

At least they don’t have any park and rides. Land use around skytrain stations is actually pretty good.
