Democrats were overwhelmingly united on their shutdown demands.

Americans understood that Trump and Republicans were to blame.

Voters made it known last Tuesday that they'll elect leaders who stand up to Trump.

Democrats held the cards — and folded for no reason.

I wonder how someone with so many advantages and so much privilege still manages to feel themselves oppressed, still imagines they are marginalized, still feels perpetually under siege by the world around them—a world that has always favored them.

Here are the companies destroying the east wing of the White House

If a temporary resident of the White House can totally demolish the East Wing to build a gaudy ballroom, without any authority, approval, or regulation, he can tear down the rest of the White House to build a Walmart. That this destruction is allowed underscores how off the rails our country is now.

Your regular reminder that we desperately need to overturn Citizens United and get big money out of politics.

It is among the worst Supreme Court decisions in history.

It corrupts our political system every day.

"Tearing down the White House and replacing it with a facsimile of Mar-a-Lago isn’t any less appalling because Trump cajoled companies into paying for it. Indeed, it might be worse. Funding a pet project via the coercion of private donors creates a closed loop and complete lack of accountability."

Donald, if you really want to be allowed into heaven, why are you sending so many people to certain torture and death?
BREAKING: ICE is sending Russian dissidents back to Russia. When the dissidents arrived in Russia, the Russian authorities were given documents relating to their asylum applications in the US which under US law are confidential. This seems to be part of a secret agreement between Trump and Putin.
