Asiatic Water #Buffalo is an important #species found in Brahmaputra valley of Assam, India. They share same habitat with Greater One Horned #Rhino in #KazirangaNationalPark and #ManasNationalPark.

Always excited to watch activities of mother and her calf #GreaterOneHorned #Rhino in the wild. They communicate with each other well. Mother rhino is always #protective in nature when the calf is around. If an unknown rhino comes close to the calf, the mother rhino immediately takes away the calf.

#Tiger is the #national #animal of #India. Clicked these photos in #Kaziranga #NationalPark in Assam, India on 14 January 2025. Kaziranga is known for its successful efforts to recover the #greater #OneHorned #rhinos from less than 100 rhinos to about 2600 rhinos currently roaming in Kaziranga.

Rhinos are back in #Laokhowa and #Burhachapori Wildlife Sanctuaries in Assam through natural dispersals from #OrangNationalParks. As such orientation to frontline forest teams are crucial. Yesterday I spent a full day helping these two protected areas to enhance #rhino monitoring.
