Definitely need to sketch out an API agreement first then backend and frontend can work semi-independently until the big intergration

I love using chatGPT for bash command. Like how to run this Python script on all files in this folder individually.

I have also needed to learn new Bash command at work like jq or the AWS CLI and chatGPT has been amazing

Peer programmer is nice subtle wording, suggest that the bot only helps you program, and an actual developer/engineer still need to do other parts like requirements gathering, discussing trade-offs and pitfalls, clarifying questions, design business-specific high-level logic etc.

Reminds of the quote that I am finding increasingly relevant in my life: "The way you do anything is the way you do everything". Our attitudes and mindsets are the biggest "optimizations" we can make to improve and propel our lives forward.

Cmd-K still works for me. Though I just learned that Cmd-T seems to do the same.

I do think it's a tad expensive but it's quite a clever way to increase the friction of un-bricking your phone compared to software-only blockers

Love the video. Very nice way to market/show all the subtle niceties that that goes into your amazing personal site. More people should make a cinematic video of their personal portfolio.

The simulation is failing.

"backend and frontend interact directly" this needs caution. You're crossing network boundaries. Can't just import backend function into frontend files because server code can end up in client bundle.

Anyhow, maybe your use case could be solved via tRPC, or a fullstack JS framework.

Not sure what is this other "standard way" you are referring to. Using React + Vite to create a Single Page App that talks to an existing backend via HTTP calls have been (and continue to be) quite a popular Vite use case for a long time.

You want Vite to handle the bundling of your backend server code ? if so, it could be good to look at modern fullstack JavaScript framework. Or do you already have backend server and just need Vite for frontend ?
