Kate Bush - Wuthering Heights
I prefer the new vocal version released on The Whole Story - my gateway to Kate and one of many compilation albums that defined my college experience (also Louder Than Bombs, Substance, Standing On A Beach, Songs To Learn & Sing, Catching Up With, et. al)

Kate Bush - The Big Sky
Played this album constantly in college.
Favorite lyric:
That cloud, it looks like Ireland.
C’mon and blow it a kiss now,
but quick -
‘Cause it’s changing in the big sky.”

Kristin Hersh
Throwing Muses’ album Hunkpapa, (including standout tracks “Dizzy” and “Fall Down”) was one of my favorites of 1989. She is still releasing new music - check out the track “Summer Of Love” from her new Muses’ album, Moonlight Concessions.

Louise Wener of Sleeper.
Louise wrote “Inbetweener” which I rank as the 5th best song of the Britpop era. Their albums “Smart” and “The It Girl” are criminally underrated.

Juliana Hatfield
I was lucky to meet her a couple of times after she performed, in the late 90s and late 10s. Both times she was friendly, but shy. She seemed a little uncomfortable with the praise everyone was giving her. I thought that was very cool.

Kate Bush - Pi
How can I be so seduced by a woman singing 3.14159265358979323846264338?

I’ve been listening to a lot of Kate Bush lately. The first song I ever heard was “Running Up That Hill” in a buddy’s room in college. I still get a chill from her delivery, especially the almost whispered way she sings, “Do you want to hear about the deal I’m making?”

Kim and Kelly Deal. Here’s a huge regret: I saw Nirvana in December 1993, a top ten concert for me. But we skipped the opening band because we needed to have a couple more drinks. Opening act:
The Breeders. Big mistake, Brian.
