🗺️📍🇹🇷 The latest field seminar of the Department Michalsky led scholars on an exploration of Istanbul's most significant monuments. Aptly named “Byzantion–Constantinople–Istanbul” the trip focused on understanding the many historical and cultural layers that shape the city on the Bosphorus.

🏛️Last week, the Lise Meitner Group set off to Venice for a rich research trip—delving into the intersections of materiality, conservation, and the body in early modern art. They visited Galleria dell'Academia, San Sebastiano, Palazzo Grimani and the reconstructed pharmacy Ai Do San Marchi.
