Our council is so dismissive (and often aggressive!) it has put people off reporting smoke nuisance. We need a campaign to change this. Everyone I have spoken to locally say the council are "useless" so there is no point in complaining, even if pollution levels are dangerously high.

“Ecodesign” stoves, bonfires, charcoal BBQs and firepits are the main problem in cities now. They cause ~800 tonnes of PM2.5 in London every year. ULEZ savings are 23tonnes/year. A bonfire in a garden can cause similar PM2.5 levels in neighbours homes to wildfire smoke miles away.

To me it is as obvious as cigarettes being bad for you. It is clear that many people believe the wood stove industry’s propaganda and like cigarette smokers used to, they need science to convince them that wood smoke is bad for all of us.
