Playing the Riven remake
There's a lot of great changes and qol added, it feels like a lot of care went into it.
However I am pretty pissed about how they simplified the final puzzle in the golden dome.
This was by far the coolest part of the original game, even if it had some flaws.

Finished Riven (2024)

This is going to be kind of a triple review, where I talk a bit about Myst (1993), Riven (1997) and Riven (2024).

I think it's both useful and necessary to talk about older media in their original context, AND in the context of modern times.

A friend is making me watch Evangelion for the first time.
I've been watching anime all my life, but most of all around 2010-2012, and Eva has always been this ever-present monolith whose shadow has loomed over every other show. Too intimitading to watch but too ingrained in the culture to ignore.

When I was 15, I played Undertale.
I've played video games my whole life, even since I could hold a mouse, and I made small pen and paper games for my friends in school, but Undertale was the first time I went "huh, I guess it's possible for one guy to make a whole game".
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?

Really want to start doing this review of Silksong but I barely have any free time...
Or actually that's not true at all, the small free time I have is just taken up by LoL Worlds

In other personal news school has been really fun, I'm having a blast
Just wish we had a little more theory lessons

OneShot is in my top 10 games of all time, I'm really looking forward to this coming out. Please wishlist!

BREAKING: Yesterday Grand Theft Auto VI maker Rockstar Games fired dozens of people, all of whom were involved in union efforts. A British union calls it "blatant and ruthless" union-busting. Take-Two Interactive says it was due to misconduct.

Here's a breakdown of what it was like to participate in the jam!

The theme was "Lost and Found", so we started the brainstorm as usual, by making an idea cloud to get our creative juices going

I can now honestly say that yes, Silksong IS "8 years in development"-good
Still haven't finished the game quite yet, I'll do a more in-depth review when I do
But I can confidently say that it is one of the best games I've ever played
(now if only there was a pantheon it would be perfect)
Some thoughts about Silksong, now that the hype has passed
It's going to be hard to play this game as itself, divorced from the discourse surrounding it
It's probably gonna be good, but is it 8 years in development good?
Can it be judged fairly without the weight of expectations in the balance?

Hey bsky! I made a game for my first workshop at GOBELINS Paris, a french art school where I enrolled this year.
I'm doing studying interactive experiences, and this was made by a group of 4 in a week.
The game IS in french, but reading is optional.

Something I kinda glossed over in this review : the "hide in locker until the killer goes away" gameplay that has been so present in the last 15 years of horror games is becoming incredibly stale at this point.
Too often the gameplay slowed to a crawl while I waited for the Mimic to move on.
Finished FNAF Secret of the Mimic recently
I've been a big FNAF fan for a while, and after the disaster that was Security Breach, I was hoping for a course correction from Steel Wool.
In some ways it is, but the series continues to stray further from the magic the first games had.
