Personality Psychologist at Lakehead University studying psychopathy, victimization, and measurement. Cat lady. Will nod along as you give your conference talk.
My friend has an autoreply on her personal email that says she is on a "creative break' and will reply when she can. I'm so envious.

Can we reduce polarization with empathy? Just published a new (replication) study with @mrooduijn.bsky.social and Matthijs Gillissen showing that different components of empathy have quite different effects [1/5] www.cambridge.org/core/journal...

I just got called out for setting the oven to 358 degrees. If I wrote a cookbook (don't worry, I won't), the whole thing would consist of instructions like, "bake for 33 minutes at 412 degrees."

Preregistration is a floor, not a ceiling: Use it to specify initial analyses with the understanding that you can and should go further when you see unexpected patterns in the data.

Full disclosure - I haven't tried this yet, but I will.
If anyone’s looking for alternatives to GoodReads, I highly recommend StoryGraph. It’s owned by a black woman, and the platform is so much more accessible and easy to use.

Had a paper accepted but they never sent page proofs or responded. Finally withdrew & submitted elsewhere. Student co-author asked "why there?" I gave lengthy explanation of fit. Student said, "no, I mean they already desk rejected this paper years ago." Student is now in charge of remembering.

Is there a cat lady starter pack? Asking for a friend. Also, in my friend's head, men can definitely be cat ladies.

My students gave very informal research presentations in my psychopathy class yesterday. There was a lot of anxiety, but it ended up being smart, supportive, and dare I say, fun!

I wake up at 3 am to ruminate over my to-do list & stay awake. Somebody told me to play the "alphabet game." You think of a category (I like countries) and slowly run through the alphabet - Algeria, Belgium, Cambodia... I picture each on the map. I've never made it to G without falling back asleep.
