"The media continues to cover politics as if it is still the 1990s. 'Both parties are basically center-right or center-left parties.' The journalism infrastructure in our country wants to pretend that that’s the world that we live in. The instinct is to treat everything politicians say as valid."
“Neither our media nor our political system is designed to deal with a far right authoritarian party”

Love love love seeing so many people showing up. The atmosphere here in the 40th largest city in the country is joy, inclusion, hope. Yes, we're frustrated, but this is hope.

I kind of hate that every time I hear someone misuse the word, "less," I think, "fewer." At least I don't say it out loud I guess.

My birthday is in a bit over a month and I am feeling old. I know I'm not. I'm just in the middle. But I'm feeling mortal. Sigh

I want to get some "protest" tshirts, but I want the fit to be designed for women and not look like a pillowcase. Any recommendations? Preferably small business

@aoc.bsky.social We’d like your help organizing a March on Washington to ensure protester safety and secure permits. We’re aiming for a Saturday at least two weeks out to allow for travel planning.

I just got off the phone with a Republican colleague. She is literally oblivious to the horrors that are happening right now. Her primary concern is still getting a "good" budget that has no debt or deficit. I don't know what to do with this information.

If someone is shady in business dealings with the government, they'll probably also be shady in a divorce. Before you jump into a marriage with this person: (1) Are you sure? (2) prenup??? (3) Do you really need to mix finances?? Don't forget marriage is a business enterprise too.

To those trying to make nonvoters feel guilty: We can't go back in time. They feel as helpless as everyone else. Pointing fingers delays action & plays into the opponent's hands. Let's figure out how to move forward together. If the least you can do is be nice to someone who's under attack, do that.

I can't handle most of NPR anymore. Their attempts to report "both sides" are contributing to the normalization of this insanity we're living in.

I'm trying to cultivate a starter pack of "real" independent journalists. Please let me know if you find more. My list feels too short.

Literally effing jaw dropping. 🤬🤬
Bravo to Sen. Alsobrooks for her question.

“We should not be giving Black people the same vaccine schedule as Whites because their immune system is better than ours.” — RFK Jr

This is the deadlier version of the racist myth that Black people feel less pain, leading to denied pain meds.

So, doesn't this make it easier for the good guys to make a counter attack if we know what comes next? 🤞
Guys, I hate to even suggest the possibility, but I’m starting to wonder just a teensy-weensy little bit whether maybe, just maybe, FFOTUS wasn’t totally upfront and forthcoming about Project 2025 during the campaign
