I wrote this joke article about Ian Bogost's idiotic takes on game narrative *eight years ago*, there's absolutely no point in relitigating this nonsense. He's just a stupid old man playing the same stupid old song.

What would someone have to say to you for this to happen?

Valve and Epic are well within their right not to distribute Hors-

Shut the fuck up you daft cunt, no one cares what you have to say, we all know they have that right, you fucking teachers pet, it's not what we have issue with.

You could figure it out if you weren't a corporate-sucking troglodyte

Everyone who says old RPGs were better haven't played them in a good while and if they did they played the fan patch where people spent decades ironing out a lot of frankly idiotic balance decisions
No, I 100% agree that computer RPGs these days have too much handholding. I, too, yearn for the days of being able to spend hours crafting my perfect build from hundreds of available options, only to discover that it mathematically cannot survive the mandatory rat fight portion of the first dungeon.

Been fascinated with this AI-disclosure for a while now

From everything I can tell about the game, it's truly AI-free.

Which makes me wonder why on Earth you would decide to use it for store assets, one of the easiest and cheapest to produce things, now that you have A WHOLE GAME finished?

seeing people being like "ehhh Idkkkkk horses DOES sound kinda icky, I get why it was banned" like barely 2 months after a bunch of people kicked up the wildest possible hostile campagn against _itch_ makes me feel like I'm losing my mind lol

Amount of utter, AI-infested, roguelite-deckbuilding-balatrolike-without-the-sauce garbage I have to sift through on steam in Discovery Queue and during Next Fest is so high and yet this is what they ban

Not 1000000th porn game, not 1000000000000th AI-infested scam, but an original, human-made game
Our upcoming game HORSES was preemptively banned from Steam, with no path to appeal. The game will still launch next week on December 2nd and will be available on EGS, GOG, Humble, and Itch for $4.99. Here is a detailed FAQ covering what happened: horses.wtf/BannedFromSt...

Me, HR, about to make everyone's lives harder during development of AAAA game everyone in the world is waiting for:

"Ya know what we should do now that we are at a final push to finish it? We should purge Slack offtopic chats to keep productivity up!"

And I thought it was some smart union busting!
EXCLUSIVE: So far it's been unclear what proof Rockstar Games has to justify its firing of 34 union members, who it claims were leaking "confidential information in a public forum".

PMG has now seen some of the messages which contributed to this decision being made.

I'm assuming AI did that red text as well, considering it's shit from an ass

AI is such an amazing tech that every company is desperate to bundle it with actually useful features to inflate adoption numbers in their reports
When I turned that off, the tabs "Updates, Promotions, Social, InBox" were deleted by default. The tabs that existed BEFORE Gemini. #rage

Call of Duty is a soulless, profit-driven, capitalist embodiment that stops making industry marginally worse for everybody only so it can deepthroat the US imperialistic military

It was shit when Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare came out, and it's shit now

0/5 is the only rating it deserves

Game reviewers should use the full range of scores and opinions available to them. It’s not a healthy cultural environment otherwise. Tommy Wiseau worked really hard on The Room but that doesn’t make it a good movie.

Just want you to know that when I asked Geoff why he gave the silent treatment to an open letter written by his own "future of games" program (& co-signed by 3000+ industry peers), he replied:

"Because that's my show and nobody gets to tell me how I should use my platform". 💀💀💀

I think if your production problem is "We don't like doing boring parts of our work" maybe your solution shouldn't be "Let's remove humans entirely from the process"

I wouldn't watch NoClip without Danny O'Dwyer actually voicing each documentary, even the boring parts.

It wouldn't be NoClip
The debate around using AI/ML/text-to-speech for voicework for games is fascinating because it's one of the only times I can see in gaming where a genuine, decades-long design / production problem is meeting a justifiably sensitive topic within games culture at perhaps the worst possible time.

Everybody should just pirate everything. Download all the ROMs you can, play old games that Nintendo wants to charge you $60 for the privilege of playing again, anybody who has a problem with this has incurable cop-brain and you shouldn't listen to anything they say
tbh as much as official rereleases are good for accessibility, I also feel like a lot of people just won't play games if they don't have official versions and that's not great for culture. Everyone should be downloading random ROMs until they find that special one that breaks their brain wide open.
