I am not live posting the whole argument here because I want to listen closely to Trump v. Slaughter. But the solicitor general for Trump just said the point here in killing the independence of agencies like the FTC is that executive branch officers must “fear and obey” the president. Wow. #SCOTUS

MORE GRIFT. The Warner Bros. merger was already suspect, but now Trump's family is getting in on the act.

Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law, is now part of Paramount's bid for Warner Bros. Discovery & they cite HIM as the reason why their bid is more likely to get approved. This cannot stand.

Today’s “One First” tackles the grant of certiorari in one of the birthright citizenship cases, and then Justice Kagan’s TX redistricting dissent—“yet another warning about the majority’s seeming willingness to do … whatever it wants, at least where rulings on emergency applications are concerned.”
196. Justice Kagan's Texas Redistricting Dissent
As unsurprising as the Supreme Court's intervention in the Texas redistricting case may have been, Justice Kagan's dissent is still a telling indictment of another emergency ruling that lost its way.

This for the record disqualifies every single Democrat in the senate.
My new red line for supporting a candidate is “did you vote to confirm a single Trump nominee in his second term?” Same goes for any his supported bills.

If yes, you’re disqualified. You can’t be out there saying he’s an existential threat to democracy then vote enable him.
All the senate democrats, not just some, fast tracked virtually all of Trump's cabinet nominees. Even the few they in theory slowed down they did very minimal obstruction for, instead giving boilerplate speeches to an empty chamber.

I talk more about it here in my guide on unanimous consent.

Basically if you're 30-50 you're just doing tech support for everyone forever.

growing problem for the dems is that their voters want progressive candidates but the party leadership generally doesn't. so there's no structure to identify and vet good progressive candidates until it's too late.
The noisiest Dem primary so far is probably Maine Senate, and here for instance I think it’s useful to see that despite all the bad publicity Platner still appears to be the favorite:

Part of that it can be attributed to our press.

Seldom is there any citation to the constitutional language. Take the “third-term“ debate.

The 22nd Amd. language is only 14 words and could
not be more clear:

“No person shall be elected to the office of the president more than twice.”

this gets to the fundamental lawlessness. the difference between law as a game and law as a tool of government.

birthright citizenship is the law. nothing has changed. the documents are the same. if that can change based on *nothing*, you don't have a real constitution in the first place.
also, let’s say wurman is right. well, we have had nearly 160 years of unlimited birthright citizenship that has been affirmed again and again by generations of Americans. whatever the original intent, that is what the birthright clause *means*.
