When it matters, use only trusted TLDs...
And, by the same token, you'd have to really go out of your way to infringe the patent, which GoDaddy doesn't use anyway, since their TLD ranking is based on which registry pays them the most, and not a relevance score.

This is why I find popular articles of the form "X gets patent on 'thing'" annoying. What a patent is "for" is not understood by general readers as "the thing specified in the formal statement at the end of the document". Nothing published by other registrars explains this scoring process.
