I like how this is trying to capture the spirit of the show even if the writers aren't really sure of the mechanics and rules of the show. But then again the show has no concrete rules so I can let this pass as real Sapphire & Steel.

Great art in these Look-In weekly strips even if the story doesn't quite capture the TV show's lore correctly. Sapphire has an idea at the end of this installment that doesn't seem like something her TV self would ever suggest.

Edgar Bergen has a scripted conversation with Dick Powell after the ep ends. As does Bergen's wife Frances who played Jean in the ep. Charlie McCarthy was in on the conversation too.
Coca-Cola paid for Bergen's appearance
Wait Dick Powell also wrote this ep?!!!?

The John Drew Theater is a real 1950s theater. Now called the Guild Hall in East Hampton which is on Long Island.
However the theater in this is a different fictional John Drew Theatre off Broadway so that's very confusing for some reason!!

Playing the ventriloquist and the ventriloquist's dummy were real life ventriloquist and ventriloquist's dummy Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy.
Candice Bergen is Edgar's daughter and Frances Bergen his wife.
Did Charlie marry?
Charlie is the dummy on the left:

Lost ep but script is below.
Jeepers this is an f-ing great ep. I read this script without pause.
Diamond is hired by a ventriloquist to murder the ventriloquist's own dummy. Then the mad stuff really happens!!!

The whole rift in space time is quite derivative but like I say I'm happy to listen to this and try remember all the individual random shit been thrown at me as possibly some plot might appear soon.

This isn't delivering what I want so I just let the so far pointless story wash over me till this gets some ambition.
Is the "Making Of" pod a joke? It's hard to tell? Maybe that was added on post-2012?

Pure jungle pulp goodness as Doc & Jack climb up ropes inside an ancient temple.
Sonny is back from her snooze.
In classic Morse writing later eps are shrinking nearer to 10 minutes than 15 minutes!

Ok so the vampires aren't real and have been using ropes. Saying that also there are vampire bats.
Not a lot seems to have happened in the 8 eps missing!
I love how pitch dark the temple remains.

That's better Joe. Revenge is sweet.
Pure concentrated Dragnet goodness is the installment dedicated to explaining how the inter state extradition will work.
And yes we got another for the GAS CHAMBER!!!!! 🟢☠️🌪️

I liked the media fan girl.
The radio singer wasn't Elvis as he hasn't started.
The sci-fi actor she saw seemed to be a movie actor not a TV actor by her words used. #WarOfTheWorlds isn't out in 1953 yet so who knows?

Sill can't quite figure out why this chosen format? Again it's just the one actor but surely that can't last 300 episodes as it must get old quick?
The in-universe stuff is just way too quirky for my liking.

Though these are lost recreations do exist. However I skipped them as I don't cross time streams in my walkthroughs.
I shall just read the synopses for these 8 eps and rejoin with part 16 which does exist.

Jack reveals that he doesn't believe Hermie as he thinks Hermie is actually a runaway. Hermie gets stolen by a female vampire.
Great old fare this to be fair.
Shame the next 8 eps are lost.

Doc finally meets a "vampire". I like how the vampires just exit stage left. I imagine it's be done by ropes or some shit reveal later on but the cliffhanger high this show gives you lets you forgive it.

Joe and Frank get permission to head east to the strip in Las Vegas and I guess kinda easily locate the perp.
I like that there was a whole installment of just the meeting where the lads get permission to leave the L.A. jurisdiction.

This might be the last of the 2-parters but this ep was so extra detailed and great. As per all other 2-parters we captured the lower level baddie at the end of part 1.
I like when a 30 minute ep spans a few months.

Adapts Radio ep #128 (22-Nov-51).
This moves quick with a lot of scene changes.
I liked it till we got to the guy. It's fair to say he did not look like how I imagined on radio!!
The time waster guy earlier was great.

Joe should have taken that punk down in my opinion. OK he has to wait till the man commits the crime but still.

I liked the perp as he could easily have been played as a bit of a simpleton or given the game away a lot earlier than the plot needed.
The dad wasn't overbearing either which has been done before by the show.

The ghost is a man after my own heart as he refuses to pass over till the Brooklyn Dodgers return.
Again a lost history is being presented and again excellently portrayed by the pod.
My baseball thoughts...

I like Baseball but only up until 1957 when the Brooklyn Dodgers moved to LA. So I love old YouTube reruns or Radio commentaries pre-1958. Baseball is so working class and the USA's main past-time then. After 1957: no interest.
I do watch modern day Softball yes.

The ghost is an Irish maid.
It seems she was a supressed lesbian?
Again the history is well researched and inserted excellently.
Not every ghost passes over it seems so I wonder if that will be relevant?
