As far as I can see, there hasn't been a crash at Woolsey and Eton in 10 years at least.

If this was really about fire codes, wouldn't we also cancel the Solano Stroll? Solano has a 4 storey building.

The city could allow the closure of Adeline to cars for Juneteenth, and just require that a fire lane be available for instant reopening on the east side of Adeline, in case something happens.
November 13, 2025 at 6:49 PM
I don't see how the fire code would prevent the Juneteenth festival. Adeline is like 150 feet wide and has only one 4 story bldg, which is at the corner of the BART station.

Even the Telegraph festival could be set up with room to drive a truck along a single row of tents.

Mandela is signed as part of the Bay Trail, which itself is advertised as being a biking and walking trail.

I definitely wouldn't know. Berkeley has a similar problem on the Ohlone Greenway -- it looks like a sidewalk along Hearst

I've noticed those Identity shuttles delivering kids to an from campus on a small bus. Wondered if that bldg was getting desperate, or if they always had a private shuttle in their plans.

Did Doordash produce the data, or just deliver it from the bar on the corner?

San Pablo Ave

If you want to hit Tokyo Fish, Acme, and Mi Tierra, what are you gonna do!

flipside -- when you are in great shape, you think San Pablo is totally flat, but when you are old and tired, you notice there are real ups and downs along it

Heavy vehicles including trash trucks are capable of lots of damage. Kind of surprised Berkeley is still running 3 heavy trucks down each street every week. Seems like you could have a collection system that did less damage.

Not an expert, but SF seems to use the 120 foot rule:

A. FSAEs shall apply to all new high-rise buildings more than 120 feet in height

You know their time manner and place regs are BS because they did not arrest the person who put up the ADHD study recruitment poster that is in the picture.

Also, it seems like a stretch to say those posters damaged anything. They are peeling visibly in the picture.

Part of the DMV driver exam should be a random person walking up to your car and touching it. If you respond, you fail.

Another part should be walking across a major street and dealing with drivers as a pedestrian.
