Here's the thing ... given my asthma if I get COVID, I could die. I don't really mind dying, I've lived a happy life. I just don't want to die for such a trivial reason as not being mindful. Let it be because I decided to skydive, or leap into a volcano, or something exciting and dangerous.

So much truth here! Having expectations and wanting outcomes is human. Just don’t become attached to them. :-) I’ve come through a challenging 2023 … but love made the difference.

In general I think New Year’s Eve is dumb, at least in the way it’s traditionally celebrated (and I’ve been there, done that anyway), so instead I use it as a time for reflection and a chance to reset … and that always starts with a reality check. Happy New Year! #2024
