If you knew your history, you'd know that those five extermination camps were in *German-occupied* Poland.

Nope, just all the talk of blowing up boats off Mullaghmore Head

Yep, I saw Suede in the mid-90s and it was a good job they had charisma because my god did they sound thin. Now, they’re an absolute behemoth live, and Brett Anderson’s voice has weathered beautifully.

Presumably you also consider the current parliament to be illegitimately constituted.

On what grounds do you claim this?

It has been fully determined.

This was happening long before Musk

Warsaw is a fabulous city, and one that has suffered enough pity and condescension to last it several lifetimes. It is very much better than this. I want to be very clear on that.
November 11, 2025 at 7:31 PM
I hesitate even to write about it, because even if not being on X spares me the worst of the “fuck off back to the UK” stuff from Poles, I still see the smug condescension of people whose Own prejudice about Poland are satisfied by the images they’re seeing.

But I haven’t been there on the 11th of November for years. It’s the one day of the year I don’t feel welcome in my adopted city.

364 days of the year, there is nobody prouder than I am to walk the streets of Warsaw. I’ve been there on and off for nearly quarter of a century, and with every year it feels more open, more cosmopolitan, more pluralist, more welcoming of difference. Everything this march is not.
November 11, 2025 at 7:24 PM
This is not a random banner displayed by racist entryists. It’s part of the march, year on year on year. Nobody who joins this march can be excused not knowing who they will be walking alongside, or what kinds of things they will be saying.
November 11, 2025 at 7:22 PM
There are three things you can do if you find yourself participating in a march where people are displaying white power symbols and banners. One, you can confront them. Two, you can leave the march. Three, you can make a bad decision.

I think the mention of lawyers might also put a finger on the scale here. You'll have people who genuinely think the BBC should apologise, and those who think they should say whatever to get a litigious president off their back.

Or at least they could take the time to track down certain professional "expats" in the crowd and ask them how they feel about marching alongside people in balaclavas with banners calling for immigrants to be deported.

Very weird emphasis on the "South Asian man", when "man" was just as much to the point
