But the opportunity to combine all the skills I have learned over the years (plus learning some new ones) into a single job was something I had to pursue.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have been chosen.

It's a bittersweet development, because I will also be leaving behind my photographer position at the Portland Press Herald — a job I have loved like none other, working alongside a crew of intimidatingly skilled and infinitely likable photojournalists and reporters.

This position has everything: editing, writing, photography, and layout. I will be managing a talented group of volunteer contributors and putting out a monthly, print-only newspaper covering all aspects of this magical community.

We’re considering seeing them in Montreal. All ages, yo.
