I collect enthusiast (name-brand, but under $200) pocketknives and enjoy carrying, playing with, and maintaining them. But when I have to cut stuff I use a $10 utility knife and a disposable blade.
When camping I carry two knives, one of which is for lending to people who want to borrow my knife.

Would it be telling if you were to expand on the Full Iain M? Do you mean a fully-realized, not-just-a-Used Universe but one you found in a charity shop with the kitchen utensils, full of awful and beautiful things and often both together? Or
