It's great!

I am absolutely going to lose the charging dongle, though 😬

My favourite thing so far are the animations! They are ZIPPY and filled with personality.

I saw this light too this morning. Just drenched in honey.

I keep telling people about the THINGS. It's just.... it's so smart. So fun, affordable, such an incredibly cute and thoughtful thing to give as a gift... It's such a Very Smart Product.

This is really it - if my impulses could be trusted to Do The Right Thing, it'd be great that going for a cheeky l'il jog made me feel better. But I have to fight so hard against the impulse to sit on the couch and eat tasty snacks instead, or get a third cup of coffee that I don't need, or whatever

I think about this a lot, because I also want more friends on the internet... but it feels weird sometimes to just start replying to strangers on bsky (like i'm doing now), or to, like, Post Content of my Own in the hopes people will like it and follow me.

So things that suck about social media - influencers, reply-guys, parasocial power dynamics, are less/not present. Instead you have, maybe, Pillars of the Community, participants, and friendships?

Reflecting on this, it makes me miss forums even more.

The social media model is, like, "Here I am, Posting on my Platform, works for You to Consume."

The forum model is maybe more, "Here We are, Posting on our Board, things for Us to Discuss."

I'm like, not *mad* about it..... but I *am* ready to wear my sweaters and not need to run my AC at night to sleep...

It's occasionally silly - like when just the thinnest veneer of the historical building was preserved to wrap around the lobby of Yet Another Shitty Condo.... but it *is* better than just endless seas of identical glass walls
