Have you read much about the history of political efforts such as the Civil
Rights Movement? And how that effort (among many others) was resisted for being "too political"?

I think we may just not have a shared definition of learning science (and this is also true between me and Carl). I try to distinguish "scientific method of modeling how the mind works," which is what I typically mean, from pedagogical practices and measurable learning goals.
