I thought about reading it a while back out of curiosity but I don’t want Varg to have any of my money and I couldn’t find a used copy. Sounds like I didn’t miss much.

What a terrible comment section

I grew up in Oregon so I had that stuff around me as I was getting into extreme metal and I miss being out there. I moved to Boston and then Chicago and a lot of really cool bands out there are small and just do west coast tours.

It’s definitely narrow in focus but like you said it’s an amazing collector’s item.

Cascadian Black Metal is so good and it makes me genuinely proud to be from the PNW

I remember checking this out from the library years ago and I’ve been meaning to buy it ever since but just haven’t. Maybe today’s the day!

NONE is one of the best recent depressive BM bands out there. It’s such good music.

I actually have that very doc bookmarked on my computer! I’ve been referencing it a lot because I’m collecting a bunch of patches for a battle jacket. It’s one thing to privately listen to a band and then disappointedly find out later they’re sketchy, it’s another thing to rock their merch.

Oh that sucks, I’m not familiar with Disma but I am with Akitsa and that’s disappointing. Being an antifascist black metal fan sucks sometimes because there’s so many sketchy connections all over the place.

I haven’t seen them since fairly early in their career when I lived in Oregon, but I’ve kept up with them. Plus they’re signed to Profound Lore which is just a great label full of excellent releases.

I love this band, I was just ordering a patch from them!
